On Saturday, September 18th we competed in the Regis Invitational at the historic Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, New York. Many of the best athletes from CHSAA (Catholic High School Athletic Association), Independent High Schools and Public High Schools were in attendance. The following races were contested: Freshman Girls & Boys 2500 meters. Sophomore, Junior and Senior 2.5-mile run. Medals were award to the top 50 athletes in the race.

Crusaders had seven athletes compete in this event and was Bless with four medals. Our Freshman Girls looked good winning Monsignor Scanlan’s four medals. Saniah Caldwell was the top Crusader with a 10th place finish and time of 11:24. Followed by Talia Dixon, 11th place, Candice Palmer, 14th place and Rakea Thomas at 26th place out of 82 Freshman Girls. We needed 5 girls to have competed for Freshman Girls Team award, which we should have at our next meet. Our top Boy was Sophomore Kyle Matthews, with a time of 18:46 in the 2.5-mile run. Kyle performed well for his first XC Meet. Alan Peralta and Dontae Lindo perform respectfully for the opening season. Great job Crusaders!!!
